Uses of Lisinopril
Lisinopril is used to help control high blood pressure in both adults and children aged six years and above. It can be taken alone or in combination with other medications. Additionally, it is prescribed to adults for the treatment of congestive heart failure and to enhance survival rates following a heart attack.
Lisinopril Mechanism of Action
As part of the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors class, Lisinopril functions by lowering levels of certain chemicals that tighten blood vessels. This mechanism facilitates better blood flow and assists the heart in pumping blood more effectively.

Generic medications work in the exact same manner as brand name medications and are bio-equivalent to their brand name counterparts. Generic versions of medications cost far less because they invest less money on marketing.
