Uses of Restasis 0.05% Ophthalmic Emulsion
Restasis 0.05% Ophthalmic Emulsion is primarily used to enhance tear production in the eyes and alleviate inflammation caused by dry eye conditions. This medication is classified as an Ophthalmic anti-inflammatory agent, and its generic name is Cyclosporine Ophthalmic.
Restasis 0.05% Ophthalmic Emulsion Precautions and Warnings
Avoid using Restasis if you have an allergy to it. Refrain from allowing the dropper tip to contact any surface, as this can lead to contamination and potential infection. If you wear contact lenses, be sure to remove them before applying the eye drops.
Direction of Use for Restasis 0.05% Ophthalmic Emulsion
- Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the eye drops.
- Gently shake the bottle by turning it upside down a few times.
- Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
- Hold the bottle above your eye and squeeze out one drop without touching the dropper tip to your eye.
- Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes after administration.
- Repeat the same process for the other eye if instructed.
The recommended dosage is one drop in each eye, twice daily, spaced 12 hours apart.
